    FRCP & Litigation Hold
     
    The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) are a set of guidelines set by the U.S. Supreme Court regulating court procedure for civil suits. FRCP often refers to revisions made in December of 2006 regarding electronic discovery, which became effective Dec 1, 2007. Aside from its everyday business value, email has the ability to make or break a lawsuit or an audit. Publicly-traded companies are subject to the Sarbanes Oxley Act. Health care providers must adhere to HIPAA's guidelines. And all organizations involved in U.S. civil court procedures are affected by recent changes to the FRCP.
